Update finally

Okay, so last night I went to an Evening of Celebrating Women, hosted by the Gay and Lesbian Center. Alex asked if I would work the auction with him. It was very cool. Saw lots of celebs, heard Christina Aguilara sing, very good live singer by the way, at the end of the night Samantha Ronson was the DJ. I have worked another event by the Gay and Lesbian Center there weren't so many celebs. The people who put the event together are really cool and always make me feel welcome.

Podcasting? What is that?

As to your question about podcasts:
Podcasts can either be audio or video and range topics a to z. They are pretty cool cuz you subscribe to them using itunes or other programs and they are free.Plus if you use itunes they automatically update the newest podcast to your computer or ipod. A lot of tv shows or people have a podcast that they put out every week. For example for my girlfriend the reggaeton lover
click and see! There is also several twilight podcasts, one of which is called imprints

As far as education goes:
They are really great if you want to fill in parents on what you've covered. Or if you wanted give extra info on a topic. Some teachers do a podcast on what will be covered on an upcoming test or if a student has special needs they will do a podcast to help them study. You can post them on itunes or on your blog or there are sites that have a list of podcasts. One teacher pretended to interview a penguin as her podcast. There are some highschool chemestry teachers in Colorado who no longer assign regular homework but assign students to listen or watch the podcast of the lecture. And when they come to class they actually do the hands on or problems they would have gotten for hw. Its all very interesting.

Another week gone by!

All right so my professor just mentioned the craziest website: woot.com Every day they sell one product. Yes only one!

I don't know what is up with Nana! She has been really weird and calling every day to check on her "babies"! She came by our house on Saturday and Sunday! Really strange. Not only does she call me but also Alex. Neither of the boys are sick and nothing is going on. Any ideas?
I tried to make potato soup today. It was going great but then towards the end I noticed it was a little watery so I added a little Bisquick to thicken it. When I was done I ended up with mashed potatoes! So Alex asked if we were having anything else besides mashed potatoes! But it was yummmmy! Next time extra water and no Bisquick!

So I am sitting in class again! I was late today cause I had the hairbrained idea to go to Venice beach! Well I have a video to put together and I needed a living statue. Of course it's monday so blue guy wasn't there! It's always nice to walk Venice. We love the homes on the path, ultra sleek and modern! We hit traffic on the way home. So I was late.

Fabio, oh Fabio

So Fabio was sent home tonight on Top Chef. I was really sad, boo hoo. Okay, so it's not really an attraction thing, he's good looking but it's a fun thing. I think that most of the time I have been watching him and not so much the show! He's actually really funny. It's been fun watching him try to communicate with others. It's kind of like when I was little and had to listen to my mom talk English to people, very entertaining because both sets of people are trying to understand the other. The circles they go through to say something simple is pretty funny. And now all that is gone. So I refuse to watch the finale!

What's really annoying is that I am watching the show but stalling to do my homework assignments. I am just having a hard time getting into them (both classes). They are actually very cool. It's a motivation thing.

All right! so i am in class. we are on a dinner break. Which is like a 30 minute break. Boring I just want to get out and get ready for heroes! Speaking of this guy in this class he was like totally dissing my show last week. I almost didn't talk to him today but I felt like I would cut him some slack.

On another note I had ordered my books for this class last week and I was waiting all week for them cause I had ordered this book I want to read "Four Play" by Jane Moore. Anyway so I am like tracking it online and then finally we hear a thump at the door on Saturday (v-day). Yey! there is the box. I like drop everything (we had been getting ready to bake biscuits) and cut open the box. There were the books I ordered for David, very cool ch. books which he quickly shoved behind a speaker in the living room! lol Then I get to my books for class very pretty, but verrry borring. Then i, reach under them to get to my prize and I get to the bottom of the box! My heart screams oh noooooo! I had forgotten that I had two lists going one was through amazon, which had the jane moore book, and the other through borders(which didn't). To save on my money I had ordered borders!!!!! NOOOOOOOO! So no book!
lol I can laugh about it now! At the time not so much!

I was going to include a pic of myself today but it didn't come out right. I have these white splotches on the front of my red sweater. I am afraid that I have been slimed! Little Danny boy was playing with slime and in my rush to get out the door, i guess it transfered. I didn't have a chance to change before class so I came to class slimed, but it doesn't look like slime it actually looks like I have slobbered all over myself! Nice, huh!

So I am addicted to novel adventures! It's so cute. I like this last episode they have pole dancing. Now why did I think of JC and Fudruckers? Speaking of I walked by a fudruckers the other day and man it smelled goood.

Thanksgiving is here and even though we left Houston because of the family craziness, it's still pretty weird. Pretty much every holiday we will spend with his sister.

Yes, I am a bah humbug person. I don't know why I am so anti-family, that's for a therapist way down the road to figure out. It's just part of who I am. I am not antifamily against my little group but against those who annoy me! lol hence The Vmeister. So now I had invited Carlos over to make the evening bearable but now we are going to their house. And we can't invite Carlos, or maybe we can, because they are really weird about who goes to their house. But I don't want to have to cook a
separate dinner. lol

So did you know that when you type you are supposed to only leave 1 space after punctuating? I didn't know that, hence above! They say it's leaves to much white space?

So David and I just got back from watching twilight! It was very fun. David and I were on our "date", watched twilight, witnessed the q & a with the director and then went out for ice cream. I have to say that my favorite part of the night was spending time with David. The movie was great. I won't say too much more until Monday. Listening to the director was tre cool! I would have been sad to not be able to go with Lily to see it but having David helped me cope. Miss ya Lily! Can't wait to hear what you have to say. bye for now, Dee

APU film festival!

Hey it's my last night of class! Yeey! It seems that it lasted forever and not 9 weeks. Poor David got on too me earlier about my language. I know another sad day in parenting (lol). It's just that dealing with imovie was really rough. It was sooooo slow, but my movie is done and has been presented! It had a glitch at the end but everyone was forgiving. I decided to make a video for Daniel. Like a baby einstein slash baby can read video. He likes it. When I would preview it he would come sit in my lap and watch.

I would send a link but it is just to big. It takes forever to download. So you will just have to imagine a fabulous film made by moi!

Another bad parent moment, here goes...
Well it's Thursday and we have no costume for Danny! WE have one for David, lol.

Oh well guess that's it. I will miss this class because it reminds me that I have a blog!

I am in class again! I played hooky last week cause I was sick.

Well tomorrow is M day! I am excited. It came so fast though and of course I left everything until the last minute.

I am having a hard time with this class. Motivation is key for me and I just can't get motivated.

So far I have made 2 movies, 1 montage about david and 1 interview. Next week I have the commercial.

Another thing that is affecting me is that we have NOOOO money!!! WE are sooooo broke! It's definitely scary. I try not to think about it, but it feels like a huge weight.

I just want to get through this to the good part. But I will try to be patient. At least I am grateful that the boys don't feel it.

Nice weather over here!

Well not really! It's been a bit hot. What I do mean is that it's been nice not having Nana and V around. (Don't know if I mentioned that they are on a cruise.) They will be back on Monday I think. We were able to go downtown and not run into V at lunch time. Things have been good.

So add a new word to Daniel's vocab today he said agua (well ba bua) but he pointed at the water! He is so creative and learns things so fast, but it's tough being his mom. He gets frustrated so fast and gets bored with stuff. I wouldn't mind that so much but his lungs are soooo loud, there is only so much patience you can have. I can't wait for next weekend I really need a break.

We got so caught up in the debate tonight that we missed David's back to school night. I couldn't have gone because I am still sick but Alex was going to go. Well David fell asleep and Daniel was asleep and the we were stuck to the tube, watchin palin and biden that we forgot to look at the time. I almost didn't write this cause there are certain "perfect parents" that would be horrified. Then I would definately be labeled the worst parent ever! lol I don't feel that bad cause we have been in a lot this year. We have met his teacher and talked to her a lot. I know, I know I used to be a teacher but what can you do? No one is perfect, lol

In class again

Yes I am sitting in class again bored. Well I am waiting for it to start.

So I started applying for jobs. My favorite, of course, is the museum one. As I think most people who know me I have always wanted to work in a museum. I also applied for a part time online teaching position. It pays nothing but the experience will be worth it for later. I am hoping to do it for about 6 months. It's evening hours anyway.

Well I am blown away with how Houston is recovering from Ike. It is so surreal for me to hear and read about the damage and the aftermath. Luckily, our house is fine. Alex' dad already checked it out. He even hired someone to pick up the branches already.

On another note, things are pretty tight around here. There were a few moments when we didn't know what we were going to do. But we came through.

It is exciting to be back! I am here at school everyone else is having problems getting online! lol
So many things have happened since we came back from Houston. Just Houston was a crazy trip in itself, lol.

Well, lets see, I walked in on M and her new man!!! That was quite embarrasing. Even so he is a twenty five year old hottie! Yum Yum!

David's back at school. His teacher is an older teacher and we will see how that goes.

Daniel is not sleeping well, that's annoying.

Back in class today is cool cause I know most of my classmates. I am very shy, no matter what people say so when I already know people I can be myself!

Nana went to the hospital Friday night cause she had the stomach flu like us. Alex also got it and he was like giving us his farewells. So now I know it runs in the family.

I bought some new shoes and people actually noticed them. They were on sale and I needed some slip ons.

Long time

It has been a while! Well class is over as of last week and what a killer it was! Alex' grandma leaves tomorrow. My brother is in town and I made it through my first earthquake.

Yes I said earthquake! It was pretty surreal.
So I finally read, since class was ending I knew I put myself in jeopardy by starting a novel or two. So in one weekend I read the first two books of the twilight series and I am hooked.

I finished the third book and for the first time, I think I will re-read a book. I can't wait to be back in Houston, even if it is for a few weeks. If only to get away from all the drama! lol
I am also looking forward towards the girl's trip. That will be very cool.
Hey on another note it's kind of weird cause tonight, Nana was sooo jealous of me. I've noticed it before but I wasn't sure. She is so insecure, I mean you have to be to be jealous of me! lol Yes V is pining after me, ha ha! Joking, no she was jealous of Grandma and me. So strange! Ah well guess it's more drama, lol

Summer is here! Well almost we still have two weeks, I know those Californians! So I will be living at V's house for a few weeks. Yes he will be my new bff. Okay so I will lock the restroom when I go over. But I am willing to go through hell and back (literally to their house and mine). You may ask why? I say can't a girl change her mind about things? Okay, okay there is a very good reason.
Today Alex' Grandma came from Colombia and she will be staying with them. I think most of you have met her right? She is amazing and being around V just to hang out with her is soooo worth it. Really she is like my own grandma. Not like the one I had at all. She is just perfect. Mine was just really traditional and a bit on the dry side, but a good woman none the less. But Alex' Grandma has a special place in my heart!

So V. here I come!!
Opps almost forgot to tell....Daniel is walking! God help us all!

Lately I have been soooo tired!
Anyway yesterday Carlos talked us into having a bbq. It was actually pretty cool. We also celebrated Maggie's birthday. Nana and V came like 4 or 5 hours late.

Today Marcela, Alex' cousin came over to hang out. We took Daniel to Gymboree and she came with. She spilled the scoop on living with Nana and V. She says its all good but that she gets tired of his jokes. He tried to gay hate and she was like I have a lot of gay friends. He cut it out. She is pretty straight up, hence I like her. I told her to go volunteer at the school when she gets bored. She liked the idea. She also filled me in on a lot of other gossip. Then I felt bad because I guess Nana has been going through some rough times. I had kind of backed off because I can't stand V. It's just that they are constantly together. Seems things are not going well between them.

Summer is near!

Hello again! Wow what a weekend! It was sooooo hot!! So pretty much the whole weekend I was at the pool. But you won't believe how "cute" things are getting around here. On Friday was movie night. The closed of the parking lot in downtown and then put up a screen and showed the Little Rascals. It was cool everyone brought lawn chairs or blankets. The kids were actually really good watching the movie, everyone that is Danny boy!! A group close to us had brought cushions to lay and Daniel kept crashing on their bed rather than on our blanket. It was soo strange. That little boy and his antics. If I have gray hair when I go back to visit it will be because of him!! :)
Hey then on Wednesdays they are going to have a farmer's market in the parking lot behind our house! How cool is that?

I miss home though. It's weird. I will be fine one moment but then it will just hit me and I will be sad. I can't wait to go and see yall!

Okay, besides the home sickeness I think the mean girl is finally coming out! I have finally decided that I don't care whether V is family or not he's annoying. So I just limit the amount of talk that I do when he's around. I pretty much ignore that he is there and unless I have to speak to him I don't.

Hey in the car today Carlos said "Hey you know who you remind me of?" I was like who? You won't believe it!! He said "That girl from the movie Mean Girls. The character of Lindsey Lohan." He laughed. But I laughed harder because I thought yey! I am becoming a mean girl again!

So Danny and David's party turned out great, despite the fire!
We had it that Friday and the smoke was all cleared out! Did I tell you how close the fire came? It came up to the drive ways of some houses but made it no further!!! Crazy huh?

Well LC you will be happy to know that Danny hates my mother n'law! Not really hates but he doesn't like being in the same room. Sorry I didn't call you back the other night, battery went out and Carlos was over.

I created a start page with html and CSS for my class. Basically it's my home page with all the links I use. I was going to attach it but it only works in mozilla firefox.

So Alex's cousin Marcela is staying with Nana and Victor! They are off our backs for a while!! But they are trying to pass themselves off as healthy people! They are going joggin with her and taking walks, it's pretty funny I wonder how long they will keep it up! Oh I have to tell you something funny that happened!

We were having an early dinner at the village pizza shop in town and who should walk up? Our health freak friends
